Focus: Families
Course Description: In this seminar, students will review research and professional practices that focus on families of persons with disabilities both in the United States and abroad. Social and cultural structures that surround the family will frame students’ understanding of original research, appreciation for methodologies for studying families, and the identification of issues and challenges facing professionals who work with families. Students will collaboratively assess, reflect, and develop college level instructional techniques for preparing future professionals to partner with families.
