J664 Contemporary Curriculum Discourses
Instructor: Jesse Goodman
When: Tuesdays: 1pm - 3:45pm
Are you planning to integrate conceptual ideas into your dissertation?
Are you intrigued by questions of: social and physical reality, human nature and identity, notions of the “good” society, ethics and moral judgment, truth and knowledge, learning, spirituality, and/or the purpose and meaning of life; and are you interested in the relationship between the study of these topics and the education of children in the United States at the beginning of the 21st century?
Would you be interested in exploring the roots and basic tenants of various “schools of thought” such as critical theory, feminism, post-modernism, critical race theory, and pragmatism among others, as they relate to educational practices and scholarship?
Do you like to “play” with ideas?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then you might consider taking J664 - Contemporary Curriculum Discourses during the spring semester of the 2008/2009 academic year.
