ABOUT ME
I am an assistant professor in Curriculum & Instruction at Indiana University-Bloomington. My research interests include documenting teacher knowledge (pre-K-12), particularly teachers' conceptions of culturally appropriate curriculum and pedagogy. Currently I work with American Indian teachers and teachers who teach in language immersion or bilingual schools or programs. I am engaged in several projects which link inquiries about language, culture, and education, including studies of American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian educational attainment, teachers' conceptions of promising practices in language instruction, and preservice teachers' understandings of social class as an indicator of diversity.
