I teach courses related to secondary education curriculum and instruction, including an ongoing seminar in the Community of Teachers Program.

My scholarship examines the intersection of education, religion, and citizenship, particularly in the context of K-12 education in the United States.  I have spent the last five years focusing intensively on the phenomenon of homeschooling--its various philosophies, practices, and policies.  My book on the topic--Write These Laws on Your Children: Inside the World of Conservative Christian Homeschooilng--is now available from Beacon Press (http://www.beacon.org/productdetails.cfm?PC=2047).
