I completed my doctoral studies in Curriculum and Instruction with a major in Mathematics Education and a minor in Inquiry Methods at Indiana University in May, 2008. While at IU, I served as a research assistant in at least three departmental projects (TERC, NAEP, and IMB). I was mainly involved with data coding and analyses.
Before coming to IU, I taught mathematics for a couple of decades at junior secondary, senior secondary, and colleges of education in Botswana. I also taught methods courses in colleges of education. I was Head of Mathematics department at Molepolole College of Education in Botswana for nine years before joining the PhD program at IU in 2003.
My research interests include: exploring the relationship between teacher-beliefs and teacher-classroom-practices, large scale assessments and data analysis issues, and exploring with various statistical packages in analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data.
