Hi! My name is Jean Lee. I am studying at Indiana University for my doctorate in Mathematics Education. I received my B.A. in pure mathematics at University of California, San Diego in 2002. In 2003, I received my Masters in Education from the same university. While teaching various courses from remedial algebra to AP Calculus, I became curious in various instructional approaches and how students learn mathematics. A few of my research interests include project-based learning, student engagement, classroom discourse, gender and racial equity issues, and the cognition of mathematical learning from a situative perspective.
I am a native southern Californian and miss the beaches and surfing. However, the fall colors here in Bloomington are absolutely breathtaking! I enjoy doing marathons and triathlons, surfing, dancing, traveling, cooking, and eating.
