ABOUT ME

I co-teach the seminar on ethical, legal and professional issues that all first year school psychology students take. It is a great opportunity to get to know the new students in the program. I meet with students on the first and third year practicum placements. In addition to working with school psychology students on their portfolios and dissertations, the other opportunity I have to interact with them during their internships. I am the web editor for two sites www.indiana.edu/~div16 (the APA Division of School Psychology website) and www.indiana.edu/~futures (the Futures of School Psychology website). In August, 2007, I received the Jack Bardon Distinguished Service Award from the APA Division of School Psychology. A book, Transforming School Mental Health Services: Population-Based Approaches to Promoting the Competency and Wellness of Children, I edited with Beth Doll was recently published by the National Association of School Psychologist and Corwin Press. We stress the importance of monitoring the population of all students rather than waiting for problems to develop and a referral to be initiated. Another of my interests is exploring ways technology can be used to provide resources to teachers and parents.
