Chuck Little joined the IU staff in 1999. He has been a regular instructor in school finance (A695) and the practicum in educational leadership (A695). He has also taught classes in school community relations, the principalship and facility planning.
Dr. Little was a public school superintendent for 17 years in New York and Michigan. His work took place in districts whose sizes ranged from 300 to 16,000 students. He also served as a high school and middle school principal. These varied positions covered a wide range of socio/economic settings.
Continuous affiliation with national and state level professional associations has been valuable in his work. He has been a member of the New York State Council of School Superintendents, the Michigan Association of School Administrators and the American Association of School Administrators. Little is also a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America.
The Indiana Urban Schools Association(IUSA) is a partnership between the University and the 34 member school corporations of IUSA. IUSA focuses its work on policy and law which effect Indiana students in the areas of poverty, race, school readiness, ESL, mobility and fiscal support. Little has been the Executive Director of IUSA since coming to Indiana University.
Little has worked with several Indiana school corporations on long range planning projects as well as staff and community development efforts. His office is located in the School of Education at IUPUI.
