As a collaborator with this project, my roles are to provide technical assistance in creating and using the student-produced books, through written teaching manuals, seminars, and ongoing assistance; provide pedagogical support of Books & Beyond writers, mentors, and consultants on book development, children's stories as a vehicle for literacy, and collaborative communication; and provide professional development for Rwandan educators in the teaching of English language and critical thinking skills.
- Chair, NCTE Assembly for ESL, 2007-2011
- The Chair provides leadership and facilitates communication for the members of the ESL Assembly, a special interest group within the National Council of Teachers of English. My activities include maintaining the membership list, acting as treasurer, publishing an annual e-newsletter, and chairing the annual session, which includes an address from an invited speaker.
