ABOUT ME

Dr. Enid Zimmerman is Professor Emerita of Art Education and current Coordinator of Gifted and Talented Programs at Indiana University School of Education. In her research, Zimmerman focuses on areas of art education including intercultural and global, art talent development and creativity, art teacher education, feminist pedagogy, leadership and mentoring, and curriculum and policy issues. Recently, she was a consultant to the Hong Kong and Korean Departments of Education about developing programs for talented art students and served as senior editor of the Journal of Cultural Research in Art Education. Her recent book, co-authored with Gilbert Clark, Teaching Talented Art Students: Principles and Practices (Teachers College Press), has been translated into Korean and Chinese.  Through the Prism: Looking into the Spectrum of Writings by Enid Zimmerman, about her influence on the field of art education, edited by F. Robert Sabol and Marjorie Cohee Manifold, was published in 2009 by the National Art Education Association. In 2009, she had an article in the 50th anniversary issue of Studies in Art Education about reconceptualizing the role of creativity in art education theory and practice Currently she is guest editor of a special issue of Art Education about creativity.
