Checking Out and/or Reserving Equipment
- You may check out items for 7 (seven) calendar days, including weekends. This applied to both faculty/staff and students.
- You must have your IU ID card and your email address with in you in order to check out items. Also, you may only check out items under your own name, except for faculty (upon their consent).
- If you need to check out equipment yet cannot do so during the TTL operating hours, follow this link, or send an email to ttlequip@indiana.edu. We will then set up a time for you to check out equipment. A minimum 24 hour notice is required to set up a check-out time.
- Most items require specific media, such as tapes (audio, miniDV, mini-DVD), disks or cards (such as an SD card). We cannot be responsible for any unlabeled (without identifying information) left in any rented equipment when it is returned
- We are not authorized to sell media for these devices. You can purchase tapes, disks and SD cards at the TIS or IU Bookstores.
Reserving Equipment
- To make a reservation, please click on the following link and follow the instructions. This form will send an email to the Equipment Loan Services employees, requesting an item on your behalf.
- Please note that reservations are subject to an item's availability, and are not guaranteed. An equipment room employee will respond to you as soon as possible about the status of your reservation.
- Reservations must be place at least 10 days ahead of the time you know you will need to pick up the equipment.
Returning/Renewing Equipment
- If you are using equipment with data that is confidential, in a K-12 classroom, or part a research activity with Human Subjects approval, please remove all media (disks, tapes, digital files) before returning the equipment
- When you return your equipment, we will be checking for any missing parts. Items usually have a tag that lists all components that are checked out and are expected to be returned with the equipment. If anything is missing or damaged, you (as one checking out equipment) will be held responsible for the replacement and/or repair of the items in question.
- Late or missing items may result in a person being blocked from borrowing equipment for the semester.
- If you need to return equipment and no one is in either Room 2026 (TTL Equipment Room) or Room 2010 (TTL), you can return equipment to room 2276 (IST Office).
- To renew an item, please stop by room 2024. We cannot accept email requests for equipment renewals.
