Blood Drive Results
A message from Catherine Overbey, the Staff Council President:
Hello All,
I wish to thank all who donated (or attempted to donate) at last week’s blood drive. We had 11 good units so pat yourselves on the back for your efforts! Several more folks attempted to donate but could not for a number of reasons, but the main reason was a low iron count. Remember to eat iron rich foods for several days before attempting to donate.
Also, you may have noticed that the SoE blood drives are half-day drives instead of the full day as in years past. This is because the Red Cross has asked that we shorten our drive time to allow them to schedule two IU drives per day in order to save fuel and operating costs. And, with that our donation goal has been reduced. Our new goal is 15 units per drive. Let’s keep this new goal in mind for the winter drive!
Thank you for supporting the Staff Council and the Red Cross,
