Partners in Education Finish Year of Mentoring with a Special Event

The Partners in Education (PIE) program joined with Jackson Creek Middle School to bring students to Indiana University once per month during the school year.  PIE is an outreach program to expose students, who may be less likely to attend college, to a university setting.  The program's goal is to foster relationships between students and mentors and to afford students opportunities they would not otherwise have in an attempt to increase the likelihood of these students pursuing higher education.

The PIE activities have included: a walking campus tour; visiting the Indiana Memorial Union; touring the IU Art Museum and the Musical Arts Center; exploring the IU sports faciliities, and more.

To finish the year, a special event was organized at McCormick Creek State park and included an afternoon of friendship, walking trails, riding horses, and a luncheon at the Canyon Inn. Following are pictures from the event.
