Ruthmae Sears (Graduated Summer 2006)
My name is Ruthmae Sears, a black Bahamian female driven by a vision. My vision is to be an internationally acclaimed mathematics educator. Hence I am in pursuit of a graduate's degree in the field of mathematics education as a stepping-stone to my success.
Mathematics and the sciences have always been my passion. My academic background illustrates both my strong analytical abilities and problem solving skills. I have an Associate's of Art degree in mathematics, from The College of the Bahamas, and a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics Education. While in university I worked as a Claims Officer at an insurance company, and a research assistant at the Central Bank of The Bahamas. My most recent job experience as a Mathematics teacher at C.R. Walker Senior High School has allowed me the opportunity to transfer mathematics principles to our nation's youth. After being exposed to real - life application in the field of mathematics and education, I have chosen to pursue graduate studies in mathematics education.
I seek to be a great educator and a consultant in the field of mathematics. Therefore, with hard work, and determination, I will achieve my goals.
