Mission

The mission of the Office of Early Field Experience is to secure placement sites within several school corporations and identify cooperating teachers who serve to mentor students while they pursue a teaching degree on the Indiana University Bloomington campus.

In an effort to facilitate the learning of students, the program strives to clearly communicate academic expectations of departmental faculty to cooperating teachers as well as encourage students to assume a greater responsibility over their own learning. We work further to acknowledge the highly valued contributions early childhood, elementary, middle and high school teachers offer toward enhancing the learning experiences of IU students in their classroom.
