Overview

The Cultural Immersion Projects – including the American Indian Reservation Project, the Overseas Project, and the Urban Project – are designed to provide classroom and community involvement experiences for student teachers in culturally diverse settings on the Navajo Indian Reservation, in thirteen different countries, and in inner city Chicago. The on-site experiences, together with focused reflections and ongoing academic reporting, result in new learning and insights that go far beyond the scope of student teaching alone.

  • Overseas Project
    Student teaching placements in Australia, China, Costa Rica, Ecuador, England, Ireland, India, Japan, Kenya, New Zealand, Russia, Scotland, Spain, Turkey, or Wales.
  • American Indian Reservation Project
    Student teaching placements on the Navajo Reservations in Arizona, New Mexico, or Utah.
  • Urban Project
    Student teaching placements in Chicago Public Schools.
  • Overseas Practicum for Experienced Teachers
    Opportunities for experienced teachers in Australia, Costa Rica, England, India, Ireland, Kenya, New Zealand, Scotland, Spain, or Wales.
