What to Expect in an IST Course

• You are expected to attend campus courses.  If you have to miss a course, you should discuss that absence with your professor.
• Your IU email account is your official tool for departmental and course communications.  You should be checking this email often.
• Course activities and styles of teaching are subject to change from semester to semester based on the professor's plans for the course.
• Professors sometimes do not have their syllabus completed until right before the course begins.  You may not be able to find out some information like textbooks or the types of activities that the course will include before the class begins.  If this is the case, the professor will provide the readings needed until your textbook can be ordered and delivered.
• The majority of IST courses use E-Reserves for readings, so some courses may not have textbooks to order.
